Hour 1 Car # 02 Scott Dixon Target Ford EcoBoost/Riley took the lead on the opening lap while Scott Pruett looking for an unprecedented 6th overall win.

1st Full-course caution began shortly before the end of the opening hour, to retrieve Car # 45 Flying Lizard Motorsports Audi R8 LMS of Satushi Hoshino.

Car # 912 Porsche North America Porsche 911 RSR on the 1st lap of the race, when Jörg Bergmeister was forced to pit with alternator problems.

Hour 1
The 2nd caution during the hour for the stopped Car 45 Flying Lizard Motorsports Audi R8 LMS of Satoshi Hoshino. Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates was running 1-2 at the end of the opening hour of the Rolex 24.

Hour 2
P Car 90 Richard Westbrook CORVETTE DP VisitFlorida.com Corvette DP. Westbrook took the lead on a pit stop by Scott Dixon, who has led most of the race so far in the Car 02 Target Ford EcoBoost/Riley.

Hour 3
The P class Car 2 JOHANNES VAN OVERBEEK HONDA HPD ARX Tequila Patron ESM Honda HPD was out due to mechanical issues. P class Car 0 ANDY MEYRICK DELTAWING Claro/TracFone DeltaWing was out due to terminal gearbox issues.

Hour 4
18-year-old Sage Karam put Car 02 Class P Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates’ No. 01 Ford EcoBoost/Riley into the lead. Jordan Taylor ran second in the Car 10 Konica Minolta Corvette DP, followed by Jamie McMurray in Ganassi’s Car 02, defending winner Christian Fittipaldi in the Car 5 and the pole-winning No. 60 Tire Kingdom Honda/Ligier JS P2, with John Pew at the wheel.

Hour 5

Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates’ “Star Car” lived up to its billing in the 53rd Rolex 24 At Daytona. With a lineup of IndyCar’s Scott Dixon and Tony Kanaan joined by NASCAR Sprint Cup Series regulars Jamie McMurray and Kyle Larson, the No. 02 Target Ford EcoBoost/Riley prevailed in a hard-fought battle with Action Express Racing and Wayne Taylor Racing to win the opening round of the 2015 TUDOR United SportsCar Championship.

6 Hours 30 minutes Car 02 Class P TONY KANAAN FORD ECOBOOST DP Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates team pitted to replace a damaged splitter. Great work under caution by team allowed the car to get back out with only 1 lap down. Tony Kanaan noticed the loss of downforce and the team took advantage of the caution to made the repairs.

The 5th caution waved at 6:22 p.m. when Tor Graves spun off and came to a stop at the exit of Turn 1 in the No. 7 Starworks Motorsport BMW Dinan/Riley.

Car 70 SpeedSource Mazda Prototype retired with oil pump failure during the caution, shortly after James Hinchcliff got behind the wheel during the caution.

The 6th caution waved on lap 220 at 9:19 p.m., when Frances Perrodo spun in Turn 6 in the Car 51 AF Corse Ferrari F458 Italia and was hit by the Car # 007 TRG-AMR Aston Martin Vantage.

Hour 10
Leading GTLM class, Pierre Kaffer pitted the Car 62 Risi Competizione Ferrari F458 Italia with a loss of horsepower. After multiple pit stops to diagnose the issue, Kaffer drove to the garage for repairs and the team later retired from the race reporting an electrical misfire.

Hour 11
A multi-car crash involving the two Porsche North America Porsche 911 RSRs brought out the yellow flag in the 11th hour of the race. Both cars were running in the top five at the time of the collision, but sent the car 912 of Earl Bamber to pit road and the No. 911 of Marc Lieb to the paddock for repairs.

Hour 12
Prototype Tony Kanaan drove the Car 02 Chip Ganassi Racing Ford EcoBoost/Riley to pitted for a splitter change. The team was able to make the repair under a yellow flag losing only one lap. Kanaan then got the car back onto the lead lap and Kyle Larson drove to the second spot at the end of the 12-hour mark.

Overall leader at halfway was Jordan Taylor Car 10 Konica Minolta Corvette.

Hour 18
Joao Barbosa leapfrogged three competitors shortly before the end of the 18th hour of the due to quick work by the Action Express pit crew. That enabled the Car 5 Mustang Sampling Corvette DP co-driven by Christian Fittipaldi and Sebastien Bourdais to win the five points for leading the Tequila Patrón North American Endurance Cup at the 18-hour mark.

Jordan Taylor was running second to earn four points for the Car 10 Konica Minolta Corvette DP co-driven by Ricky Taylor and Max Angelelli. That gave the team 11 points, moving them into a tie with the No. 02 Target Ford EcoBoost/Riley driven by Jamie McMurray, Kyle Larson, Tony Kanaan and Scott Dixon with six hours remaining. Third, with 10 points, was Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates Car 01 entry of Scott Pruett, Joey Hand, Charlie Kimball and Sage Karam.

Hour 23
Tough luck for PC Class leader Car 54 COLIN BRAUN ORECA FLM09 crashing & giving Prototype Challenge (PC) class, Car 52 PR1/Mathiasen Motorsports Cuttwood/Spyder Orafol ORECA FLM09 the lead to win with drivers Tom Kimber-Smith, Mike Guasch, Andrew Novich and Andrew Palmer.

Second, one lap down, was the pole-winning Car 16 BAR1 Motorsports Autosport Designs/Top 1 Oil ORECA of Johnny Mowlem, Tom Papadopoulos, Tomy Drissi, Brian Alder and Martin Plowman.

The race came down to a 7 minute, 30-second sprint to the finish, with Dixon holding off defending race winner Sebastien Bourdais by 2.267 seconds at the checkered flag.

The victory enabled McMurray to join A.J. Foyt and Mario Andretti as the only drivers to win both the Daytona 500 and Rolex 24. Dixon won the Rolex 24 for the second time – winning in the Ganassi Car 02 in 2006 – while Kanaan and Larson joined McMurray in winning the event for the first time. It was Ganassi Racing’s sixth Rolex 24 win in 12 attempts.

Bourdais moved into second in the closing minutes but could not challenge Dixon, joining Joao Barbosa and Christian Fittipaldi in giving the 2014-winning Car 5 Mustang Sampling Corvette DP a 2nd place finish.
