Victoria Day SpeedFest Weekend at the Canadian Tire Motorsport Park

The unofficial kick-off to the summer season, Castrol presents the Victoria Day SpeedFest Weekend will feature the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series and the return of Pirelli World Challenge (all seven classes). Four Canadian series’, the Canadian Touring Car Championship presented by Continental Tire, Ultra 94 Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Canada by Michelin and the Toyo Tires Formula 1600 Super Series will round out the exciting on-track action.

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The NASCAR Canadian Tire Series presented by Mobil 1 is set to start its 2015 season on Sunday with the Pinty’s presents the Clarington 200 as part of Victoria Day SpeedFest at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park in Bowmanville, Ontario. Tagliani Autosport announces a major move to Chevrolet for the 2015 NASCAR Canadian Tire Series. This comes following the team’s new partnership with Gravel Auto.

Edmonton’s fan favorite & rookie of the year contender Erica Thiering Car 87 Canada’s Best Race Team (CBRT) will be starting on her 1st road course in the race. Earlier in the year CBRT unveiled the paint scheme designed by 6 year old Ava Warrington. Canadian Tire Motorsport Park Race Setup:
This will be the 99th overall race in series history, and Canadian Tire Motorsport Park (CTMP) will become the first track to play host to 11 series events.

Reigning series champion L.P. Dumoulin is a two-time winner at CTMP, and will look to become just the second driver to start a title defense with a win following Scott Steckly (2009, `12).

At Canadian Tire Motorsport Park: History
Opened in 1961 as Mosport Park. The name Mosport was a contraction of motor sport.
Has played host to the American Le Mans Series, CASCAR Super Series, Can-Am, Formula 1, IndyCar, Tudor United SportsCar and USAC Champ Car, among others, through the years. Welcomed the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series presented by Mobil 1 for the first time on June 17, 2007 in an event won by Andrew Ranger. Was renamed from Mosport International Raceway to Canadian Tire Motorsport Park in February 2012. Held its inaugural NASCAR Camping World Truck Series event on Sept. 1, 2013, won by Chase Elliott.
