There was exciting Kart racing in the CKRC Round 5 at North Star Raceway in Strathmore AB

There was great kart racing through-out day but there were 2 races that stood out from the other races. The Briggs & Stratton Junior Final race was a great battle between Kart 12 Connor Peet & Kart 8 James Altamirano. The Briggs & Stratton Light Final race was a great 3-way battle between Kart 27 Skylar Dunning, Kart 15 John Kwong, & Kart 10 Tanveer Deen.

Kart 12 Connor Peet won the Briggs & Stratton Junior Final race. 2nd Place Kart 8 James Altamirano followed by 3rd place Kart 22 Spencer Perreault.

 

Kart 95 Kevin Canning won the Briggs & Stratton Heavy Final race. 2nd Place Kart 5 Alan Haggerty followed by 3rd place Kart 84 Dennis Bauer.

 

Kart 27 Skylar Dunning won the Briggs & Stratton Light Final race. 2nd Place Kart 15 John Kwong followed by 3rd place Kart 10 Tanveer Deen.

 

Kart 29 Mario Gimenez won the Rotax Masters Final race. 2nd Place Kart 9 Josh Carter followed by 3rd place Kart 18 Brendon Sanguinetti.

 

Kart 24 Matthew Hanna won the Briggs & Stratton Cadet Final race. 2nd Place Kart 9 Matthew Chan followed by 3rd place Kart 4 Trevor Sawatzky.

 

Kart 56 Jake Thompson won the Shifter/DD2 Final race. 2nd Place Kart 38 Evan White followed by 3rd place Kart 15 John Kwong.

 

Kart 231 Levi Schmidtke won the Junior Rotax/Mini Max Final race. 2nd Place Kart 32 Colby Wallace followed by 3rd place Kart 43 Paul Galecki.

 

Kart 91 Jake Thompson won the Senior Rotax Final race. 2nd Place Kart 38 Evan White followed by 3rd place Kart 48 Mark Newson.

Spectators are welcome. Entry is FREE ! Qualifying generally is under way by 11am and racing follows until 4-5pm

 

Volunteer Race Officials

 

It takes a lot of people to put on an event on; my favorite is being a track-side Corner Marshal. The best way to watch a race is to be in the kart. The second best way to watch is to be a trackside marshal. If you are interested in racing but not sure about it yourself, being a marshal might be for you. Marshals are there for emergencies and to communicate with racers with flags and to communicate regarding the race with others via radio. Training is provided by an extremely experienced Race Director Fred Causer & experienced Marshals.
