Start of the 2016 F1 Championship is at the Australian Grand Prix Mar 18 – 20

The 2016 F1 Championship starts with the Australian Grand Prix Mar 18 – 20 at Albert Park, Melbourne, Australia. The 1st Melbourne Grand Prix was in 1996 on the 5.303 KM track. The race is 58 laps for a length of 5.303 KM with 16 turns & 2 DSR zones.

There was lots of testing in the off season with Ferrari & Mercedes having success but I have always felt the real test comes from racing. My pick to win the Australian Grand Prix is Mercedes Lewis Hamilton. Is there any team to apply pressure on Mercedes for the Championship this year? I think Ferrari is going to have surprises up their sleeves & could make it interesting. New team to watch this year will be Haas as Gene Haas has had championship teams in IndyCar & NASCAR.
