Lucas di Grassi, Audi Sport ABT Wins Round 1 September 13 2014 Beijing, China EPrix

FIA Formula E Championship is future of racing using a different energy source, electric vehicles. The cars look like F-1 cars except they are electric engines. I was wondering how they would do pit stops & was surprised that all the driver does is go to the pits & changes cars. The other car is a duplicate of the 1st car except for fully charged battery & fresh tires. In season 2 Formula E will operate as an ‘open championship’, allowing teams and manufacturers the opportunity to showcase their own electrical energy innovations.

Working to the technical specifications set out by the FIA, teams will focus their efforts on improving and developing battery technology in the hope this will filter into the everyday electric vehicle market.
