Car 78 Martin Truex Jr. Bass Pro Shops/Tracker Toyota won the Coors Light Pole Award for the 57th Annual COCA-COLA 600 with a lap of 28.077 seconds, 192.328 mph. This is Martin Truex Jr.’s 9 pole in 382 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races & this is his 2nd pole and eighth top-10 start in 2016. This is his 1st pole in 22 races at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Car 22 Joey Logano Shell Pennzoil Ford (second) posted his 9th Top 10 start of 2016 and his 5th in 15 races at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Car 17 Ricky Stenhouse Jr. Fastenal Ford (third) posted his 2nd Top 10 start at Charlotte Motor Speedway. It is his 7th in 13 races this season. Car 24 Chase Elliott NAPA Auto Parts Chevrolet (12th) was the fastest qualifying rookie.
