Evolution Cupcar Series Race Director Lee Krause states, “Now that the 2014 season has concluded, I want to say congrats to the Champions and also to every racer that strapped in this season. I have said it every race during our CupCar driver’s meetings, I am so proud of each racer this year. Every driver developed significantly, and even through the highs and lows, I truly believe everyone had fun.

For me, 2014 will go down as a year that included some great racing that was not only exciting, but was clean. Not one extra body panel was sold at Evolution this year, which is a complete reversal from 2013.”

Congratulations to our Evolution CupCar, and EIR Track Champion, Layne Hamilton. He was truly dominant all year long, and never finished a feature race outside of the top 3. His aggressive, yet clean, driving style developed over 5 years in a CupCar, and is proof that the some of the next generation of great Western Canadian racers are being built in this series.

Congrats to Medicine Hat Speedway Track Champion, Alex Krause. After a slow start to his season, the #10 team was able to turn things around, and Alex surged in the second half to be able to win the final two races at the Hat, and securing him the title.

Our 2014 Rookies deserve a huge congratulations this year as well. At no time was I ever concerned about them, as they all ran smart and clean every race, learning from the other racers. Congrats to Faith Luther on her Rookie of the Year status for the Evolution CupCar and Medicine Hat Speedway. Congrats to Keira McLean on her Rookie of the Year status for Edmonton International Raceway.

As I mentioned, the development of these kids as racers was amazing to watch. The improvement that many of them showed was far greater than I could have expected, and the next few years will be an absolute treat to see the next level these kids take this series. I foresee the next few years being extremely competitive. The other thing i foresee is the upcoming dominance of the girls. The boys have had their way since Madison Hayley and Taylor Krause left, but i think that is all about to start changing. The girls are going to be very very tough to beat over the next couple of seasons.

Thank-you to Grant Edwards of Evolution Racing Products for providing us the series to race in. I know when he started this series, he hoped for great things to happen, and I believe those things are truly starting to become reality. This series started out as a small thing that many fans didn’t really pay attention to, and now we are constantly told we are possibly the best racing of the night, quite often with the largest car count as well.

Thank-you to everyone that has supported our series in 2014, especially our great group of parents and all of our fans. You are the reason our series is as successful as it is. Our kids hear your cheers, and they love it.

See you all at the various banquets and winter time bench racing sessions throughout the snowy season. Good Luck to our competitors that are making the trek to California to race in 2 weekends, and for those of you that aren’t able to go, watch here for how our own Evolution CupCar racers are doing. “

Have a great winter,
Lee Krause
Evolution Cupcar Series Race Director

October 4th, 2014 arrive and drive day at the Edmonton International Raceway.
Arrive and drive day was an opportunity for interested families to have their child try out a car prior to purchasing. All safety gear was be supplied & they had fun. There were 12 new kids with their families & talking to Rob Hamilton some are looking at racing next season.

Last event of the Evolution Cupcar Series racers & families are going south to race in October 11 to race at the All American Speedway. Should be a good event with 7-9 Canadian racers up against the American mini cup racers.

On the promotional side Evolution Cupcar Series is looking at getting the word out by showing cars in some shows like the World of Wheels in Calgary & other shows in Medicine Hat & Red Deer.

This type of racing is great for kids that want to be the future Jeff Gordon & Danica Patrick in stock car racing. This racing is also different in the factor that this is family racing as the rest of the family make up the team.

So the question is who will be the 2015 Evolution CupCar Champion? Alex Krause, Blake Hamilton, Autumn Kopeck or Travis Dolter.

2014 was also a resurgence of Baby Grands & is a next step for mini cup racers to move up to like Layne Hamilton. It should be an exciting new season in 2015 & VelocityMotorSportsNews.Com will be there. I think when I do the group photo next year there will be more families in it.
