Dale Earnhardt Jr. Michael Baker International Chevrolet ‘Sweeps’ Both Races at Pocono Raceway

Car 88 Dale Earnhardt Jr. Michael Baker International Chevrolet, won the NASCAR Sprint Series 41st Annual GoBowling.com 400 Pocono Raceway, Long Pond, PA.

Starting in 9th place position, this is his 3rd win and 15th top 10 finish in 2014. He also won the Pocono race in June, giving him his 2nd career season track sweep, and first since 2002 Talladega Superspeedway.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. is the first driver to sweep at Pocono since Denny Hamlin in 2006. This is his 2nd win and 13th Top 10 finish in 30 races at Pocono Raceway. Hendrick Motorsports has now won five consecutive races at Pocono.

Starting out in 6th place, 2nd place Car 4 Kevin Harvick Mobil 1 Chevrolet, posted his 10th Top 10 finish in 28 races at Pocono Raceway. It is his 10th Top 10 finish in 2014.

3rd Place Car 22 Joey Logano Shell Pennzoil Ford, started in 2nd place, and posted his 4th Top 10 finish in 12 races at Pocono Raceway.

4th Place Car 15 Clint Bowyer RK Motors Charlotte Toyota started in 14th place, followed by 5th place Car 16 Greg Biffle 3M Ford, who started out in 25th place.

6th Place winner Car 24 Jeff Gordon Axalta Chevrolet, started back in 5th place, and led a race-high 63 laps, reaching two ‘laps-led’ milestones during today’s race: 24,000 career laps led in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series and 1,000 laps led at Pocono Raceway.

7th place Car 1 Jamie McMurray Bad Boy Buggies Chevrolet, started in 8th place, followed by 8th place Car 31 Ryan Newman Quicken Loans Chevrolet started way back in 21st place.

9th Place Car 11 Denny Hamlin FedEx Office Toyota started from 13th place.  Last in the Top 10 was Car 5 Kasey Kahne Farmers Insurance Chevrolet, who started out in 12th place.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. led the race going into the final restart, and was able to hold off Kevin Harvick on a restart with three laps to go get his 3rd win of the 2014 season in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series at the GoBowling.com 400.

Earnhardt only led the race once, but it was the best time to lead the last 13 laps.

Nice save by Car 2 Brad Keselowski Alliance Truck Parts Ford to start the race in lap 1 after the down force was lifted off his car. The big crash came on the restart after the 5th Caution on lap 118 which involved 13 cars. Rookie Car 42 Kyle Larson Target Chevrolet won his 1st NASCAR Sprint Series pole & finished in 11th place.
