18th Annual Duck Commander 500 NASCAR Sprint Cup Race Postponed

18th Annual Duck Commander 500 NASCAR Sprint Cup Race was postponed from  Sunday April 6/14 due to rain.

Car 22 Joey Logano Shell Pennzoil/Hertz Ford wins the 18th Annual Duck Commander 500 race.  This was the 7th NASCAR Sprint Cup Race with 7th different driver.

The race ended with a green, white, checker that was a fight to the finish as Joey Logano passed Car 24 Jeff Gordon Axalta/Texas A&M School of Engineering Chevrolet on the last lap to take the win which is the 3rd last lap pass of the 2014 season.

Due to a caution flag that came out before the whit flag came out, Jeff Gordon gambled on 2 right tires as Joey Logano took 4 tires. Car 18 Kyle Busch Interstate Batteries Toyota also took 4 tires & came through the field to finish in 3rd place.

4th Place car 55 Brian Vickers Aaron’s Dream Machine Toyota followed by Sunoco Rookie of the Race Car 42 Kyle Larson Target Chevrolet in 5th place. 6th place car 16 Greg Biffle 3M/Give Kids A Smile Ford followed by Car 20 Matt Kenseth Dollar General Toyota in 7th place. 8th place Car 15 Clint Bowyer Willie’s Duck Diner Toyota followed by Car 27 Paul Menard Quaker State/Menards Chevrolet and lastly in the Top 10 was Car 14 Tony Stewart Mobil 1/Bass Pro Shops Chevrolet in 10th place who also was the Coors Light Pole Winner.

7 Cautions for 49 laps the most memorable was when Car 88 Dale Earnhardt Jr. National Guard Chevrolet clipped the grass on the apron which then sent the car across the track into the wall, followed by fire, so all of that ended his day early. Debri from hitting the grass hit Dale Earnhardt Jr’s team mate car 48 Jimmie Johnson Lowe’s Spring is Calling Chevrolet http://www.nascar.com/en_us/news-media/videos/2014/4/7/sprint-cup-series-texas-motor-speedway-dale-earnhardt-jr-slams-wall.html
