A New Era of Motorsport Events in Western Canada
The NASCC has long been a cornerstone of Alberta’s racing scene, hosting competitive events that bring together local and regional drivers. However, with changing times and a shift in car counts along with growing interest in cross-discipline motorsports events, the club is shifting gears to a joint festival format that will blend thrilling sprint, endurance, and time attack action into a single weekend. In addition, there will be car shows, vendor booths, and other experience based activities available for the entertainment of all.

What to expect

Multi-discipline race events – weekends will include road racing, endurance racing, and a new time attack championship showcasing the fastest cars Alberta has to offer. Sprint and Time Attack sessions, including racing, will typically occur during the morning and afternoon both Saturday and Sunday, with a split-8 endurance race running late afternoon for 4 hours on Saturday, and in the afternoon for 4 hours on Sunday. You can see an example schedule at this link.
Live announcing and live streaming – professional live commentary and an accompanying YouTube live stream will run throughout our events.
Entertainment – Saturday evenings which include live music, a party in the pits, and many other options spread throughout the season are in negotiation with RAD Torque Raceway.
Car shows – plans are going forward foreach weekend to feature an exclusive car show area, highlighting a selection of classic, exotic, and performance vehicles from Alberta’s robust automotive community.
Introducing Alberta’s only FIA / WCMA sanctioned Time Attack Championship
Alberta has long been home to highly competitive solo sport, lapping, and time attack events. The NASCC is proud to offer the first officially WCMA & FIA sanctioned, licensed Time Attack regional championship of its kind in Alberta. Running on a rule set designed to encourage highly competitive time attack action with a low barrier of entry, check out class rules by clicking here.

Motorsport Volunteers

Get involved in motorsports: volunteer!

Race Volunteers make events it takes a lot of people to make an event work. Road Racing Cars Volunteer Positions: Clerk of the Coarse, Steward, Starter, Chief Coarse Marshal, Corner Captain, Communicator, Yellow Flagger, Blue flagger, Safety, Pri-grid, Pit in & Pit out, Rescue personnel: Ambulance crew, Fireman & Clean-up Crew Tow Truck driver, Pace Car Driver, Timing personnel, Scrutineer (Tech), Registration.

One of the coolest ways to volunteer is as a track-side marshal/corner worker. Road course marshals are race personnel that surround the road course track at specified stations that communicate to drivers with flags and each other on radios. These are a committed group of volunteers that with training and experience, can become qualified to work the big professional races like IndyCar & Formula 1. I always loved Blue Flagging, to be good you need to keep the race positions in your head.
