Josef Newgarden won the Honda Indy 200 at Mid-Ohio Presented by the HPD Ridgeline

Starting from pole Car 2 Josef Newgarden, Chevrolet, won the Honda Indy 200 at Mid-Ohio Presented by the HPD Ridgeline for his 19th NTT IndyCar Series win. This is his 1st win of 2021 & the 1st win for Team Penske this year on Roger’s birthday. 2nd Place Car 8 Marcus Ericsson, Honda, started from 3rd place. 3rd Place Car 10 Alex Palou, Honda, started from 7th place.

4th Place Car 9 Scott Dixon, Honda, started from 5th place followed by 5th place Car 27 Alexander Rossi, Honda, started from 6th place. 6th Place Car 15 Graham Rahal, Honda, started from 8th place followed by 7th place Car 51 Romain Grosjean, Honda, started from 18th place. 8th Place Car 5 Pato O’Ward, Chevrolet, started from 20th place followed by 9th Place Car 45 Santino Ferrucci, Honda, started from 22nd place. Lastly in the Top 10 was Car 30 Takuma Sato, Honda, started from 19th place. Canadian Car 29 James Hinchcliffe, Honda finished in 17th place. Canadian Car 4 Dalton Kellett, Chevrolet finished in 21st place.

The race had 2 Cautions for 6 laps: 1st Caution on lap 1 for Contact: Cars 7, 28 and 29 in Turn 5. 2nd Caution on lap 4 for Contact: Car 12 and 18 in Turn 5.
