BURTON FASTEST IN NASCAR XFINITY SERIES PRACTICE
- Practice; After the completion of the scheduled NASCAR Xfinity Series 50-minute practice session on Friday afternoon, NXS Veteran driver Jeb Burton would record a fast lap of 48.338 at 186.189 mph on Lap-7 of his 10-lap session putting the No. 27 Golden Corral Chevrolet on top of the board besting the 44 cars entered for the NASCAR Xfinity Series (NXS) season opening United Rentals 300 at the Daytona International Speedway (DIS).
– Starting Position; Qualifying for the United Rentals 300 will take place Saturday morning at 11:30 AM ET to set the 36-car starting field. NXS Qualifying for superspeedways will be determined by the fastest competitor in two rounds of single-lap qualifying. The fastest ten in Round 1 will move on to Round 2 where the fastest competitor in Round 2 will be determined the United Rentals 300 pole starter. The lineup up will then be set by the fastest 33 competitors on speed and five provisional starters. Six cars will fail to make the starting field. Burton is scheduled to roll off 22nd in the order for the first round. Weather pending qualifying is set to begin off at 11:30 AM ET on Saturday, February 17 and will be shown LIVE on Fox Sports 1 (FS1) and the Fox Sports App.
– Daytona International Speedway Stats; Saturday afternoons scheduled NXS United Rentals 300 will mark Burton’s 10th NXS start at DIS. In nine previous starts, Burton holds an average finish of 13.7 with an 98.7% lap completion rate finishing 1026 laps of the possible 1039. Collecting three Top-5 finishes, with 34 laps led, Burton’s best finish of 4th would come three times separate times in July of 2017, and both races of 2021. Last August Burton would finish the WaWa 250 in the 12th position.

- Practice; Entering his sophomore season Wisconsin driver Parker Retzlaff would complete his first practice session of the season with a fast lap of 49.145 at 183.182 mph on the final lap of his 9-lap session placing the No. 31 FUNKAWAY Chevrolet 27th fastest of the 44 cars entered for the NXS United Rentals 300 at the DIS.

Daytona International Speedway Stats; Saturday afternoons scheduled NXS United Rentals 300 will mark Retzlaff’s 3rd NXS start at DIS. In two previous starts, Retzlaff holds an average finish of 5.5 with an 100% lap completion rate finishing all of the possible 235 laps. Collecting two Top-10 finishes, Retzlaff’s best finish of 4th would come last February while last August Retzlaff would finish the WaWa 250 in the 7th position.

- Practice; Getting back behind the wheel of his No. 32 Capital City Towing Chevrolet for the first time since last August’s DIS WaWa 250, owner/driver Jordan Anderson would complete the NXS 50-minute practice session recording a fast lap of 48.474 at 185.667 mph on Lap-18 of his 24-lap session putting Anderson eighth quickest of the 44 cars entered for the NXS United Rentals 300 at the DIS.
– Starting Position; Qualifying for the United Rentals 300 will take place Saturday morning at 11:30 AM ET to set the 36-car starting field. NXS Qualifying for superspeedways will be determined by the fastest competitor in two rounds of single-lap qualifying. Daytona International Speedway Stats; Saturday’s NXS United Rentals 300 will mark Anderson’s third NXS start at DIS. In his debut in August of 2021, Anderson would start in the 18th position and loose the lead draft early looking to avoid the early accidents. However, caution would never be displayed and Anderson would come away with a 22nd place finish. Last August Anderson would return to the seat of a Xfinity car at Daytona and would claim a 15th place finish after wrecking at the start finish line. Anderson is no stranger of Daytona capturing two second place finishes in back-to-back years (2020, 2021) in the season opening NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series (NCTS). In five starts in the truck series Anderson holds an average of 13.6.
