Joey Logano has won his second NASCAR Cup Series championship, becoming the 17th different driver to win multiple championships and just the second active driver to win multiple titles (2018, 2022) joining two-time series champion Kyle Busch (2015, 2019). Logano won the in the NASCAR Cup Series season finale at Phoenix Raceway to claim the 2022 title. Logano finished the 2022 season with four wins, 11 top fives and 17 top 10s. During the Playoffs this season, Logano has produced two wins, four top fives, and five top 10s. Joey Logano, from Middletown, Connecticut, is the first and only driver from the state of Connecticut to win a NASCAR Cup Series championship (2018, 2022).

Paul Wolfe has won his second NASCAR Cup Series championship: Brad Keselowski in 2012 and Joey Logano in 2022. Wolfe is one of 44 different NASCAR Cup Series crew chiefs to win a championship and the 16th to win multiple Cup Series titles. Wolfe has also become the fifth different crew chief in the NASCAR Cup Series to win titles with multiple drivers; joining crew chiefs Bud Moore (Buck Baker 1957 and Joe Weatherly 1962, ‘63); Carl Kiekhaefer (Tim Flock 1955 and Buck Baker 1956), Dale Inman (Richard Petty 1964, ‘67, ‘71, ‘72, ‘74, ‘75, ‘79 and Terry Labonte 1984); and
Tim Brewer (Cale Yarborough 1978 and Darrell Waltrip 1981). Wolfe has 37 career NASCAR Cup Series wins, 29 with Brad Keselowski and eight with Joey Logano.
