It was an exciting full weekend of oval racing for the 2017 Fan Appreciation weekend at Medicine Hat Speedway. The Saturday night was one of the latest nights of racing just after 11:00 p.m. The great part of the night was the two young talented Tylers both won their Main races. Car 18 Tyler Emond won his 1st Medicine Hat Speedway Baby Grand Main Race & Car 81 Tyler Knowles won his 1st IMCA Modifieds Main Race. There was also 1st time Evolution Cupcar Series (Mini Cups) Main Races wins for Car 13 Emma Fitzpatrick & Car 20 Owen Harbour. Car 14 Justin McTavish had bad luck as his car was in an incident took a lot damage, but luck changed as he was lent a car to race the next day. Lastly I have to say thanks to the Medicine Hat Speedway & volunteers who helped me out so I could take all my photos.

This Aug 12th & 13th Two-day weekend of racing is our Darryl Adams Memorial race. Featuring the Evolution Mini Cup cars, Hobby Stock, Renegade Trucks, Elite Street Stocks
Medicine Hat Speedway Statement:
This Aug 12th & 13th Two-day weekend of racing is our Darryl Adams Memorial race. We’ll be featuring the Evolution Mini Cup cars, Hobby Stock, Renegade Trucks, Elite Street Stocks and the Baby Grands. The Saturday night show will be normal times with gates opening at 5:00 pm and green flag at 6:30. Sunday gates open at 1:00 pm and we drop the green at 2:00 pm.
The Darryl Adams Memorial is a very special race weekend for us as we look back and pay respect to one of our fallen racers. Darryl become very sick (but didn’t tell anyone) the last year he raced with us, but he persevered to win his second track championships that year. Very shortly after the last race we found out Darryl had been very sick and passed shortly after. Each year, every class races for this prestigious trophy. The driver with the most overall points after 2 days of racing, wins this event and has their name is carved on the trophy with all the other past winners.
This is a big deal for our racers and Darryl’s family. Please, please come cheer on our racers as they battle for this trophy. I know one thing, most racers would wreck their mother to win this show lol, you won’t want to miss this action!!
