Northern Alberta Sports Car Club Statement:
17 Feb 2026
Hello Volunteers, Racers, Crew, Spectators, and fellow ice race enthusiasts,
We’re excited to share that we’re a go for the kickoff of the Subaru City 2026 Ice Race Championship this weekend at Roy’s Lake! We will hold 2 full race days, and a Friday night competition license school for racers only. Registration is open at nascc.motorsportreg.com – please register now.
We are building the track this Thursday: Assuming we have enough competitors (20) we intend to kick off an accelerated season with a jam-packed weekend. This includes two race days: one on Saturday (the 21st) and one on Sunday (the 22nd).
Important School Update: We will be running a Competition Licensing School starting Friday evening. There is no cost for this school. NOTE – it is only open to those competitors with prepped race cars intending to race this season – if you are not already prepared to race, you are not eligible to take the school. Unfortunately, we are unable to hold a fully fledged winter driving school, we will try again for that next year.
Classroom: Friday, Feb 20th @ 7:30 PM – 9:00 PM at Speedtech Edmonton (14020 141 St NW, Edmonton).
Please Note: Unfortunately, we will not be running a winter driving school. This school is strictly for those seeking a competition license with an active racecar ready to race.
Saturday School: Saturday will feature an on-track rookie practice, extended and run under observation, as well as an adjustment to the way rookies will run their Saturday races. This will allow our new competitors to run under observation and have a safe and fun time getting up to speed.
Volunteers needed: We still require volunteers and racers to make this happen. Please sign up at nascc.motorsportreg.com as soon as possible. Thank you!
Get your licenses & club memberships: Note – you will still require a club membership and valid WCMA License to race. All of this is available at the nascc.motorsportreg.com site as well as the WCMA motorsport reg site linked here (https://www.motorsportreg.com/orgs/western-canada-motorsport-associati). If you haven’t already applied for your license, do that today with apologies to Sue, our WCMA registrar.
