Starting 15th place from Car 8 Marcus Ericsson, Honda, won the Chevrolet Dual in Detroit Race 1 for his 1st NTT IndyCar Series win. 2nd Place Car 21 Rinus VeeKay, Chevrolet, started from 12th place. 3rd Place Car 5 Pato O’Ward, Chevrolet, started from pole.

4th Place Car 30 Takuma Sato, Honda, started from 16th place followed by 5th place Car 15 Graham Rahal, Honda, started from 20th place. 6th Place Car 45 Santino Ferrucci, Honda, started from 21st place followed by 7th place Car 27 Alexander Rossi, Honda, started from 2nd place. 8th Place Car 9 Scott Dixon, Honda, started from 11th place followed by 9th place Car 18 Ed Jones, Honda, started from 4th place, Lastly in the Top 10 was Car 2 Josef Newgarden, Chevrolet, in 10th place, started from 5th place. Canadian Car 29 James Hinchcliffe, Honda finished in 17th place. Canadian Car 4 Dalton Kellett, Chevrolet finished in 18th place.
