Mercedes finishes 1st & 2nd in the Spanish Grand Prix that makes the 5 F-1 races in a row this seems to be the year of Mercedes.

Car 44 Lewis Hamilton wins the Spanish Grand Prix. His biggest threat was his own Mercedes team mate Car 6 Nico Rosberg Mercedes who came in 2nd place. Mercedes is dominating in F-1 for 2014 winning the 1st five races of season. Hamilton started on pole again & lead the pack from turn 1 to the checker flag to put in himself in 1st place in the championship with a 3 point lead over his team mate.

2nd Place Car 6 Nico Rosberg Mercedes made it exciting in the last laps as he was able to use the Drag Resistance System (DRS) to catch up with Lewis Hamilton and with lapped traffic Nico kept the pressure on to the end. An interesting thing is both Mercedes were running different tire strategy and were not under any team orders so you got to see booth cars fighting to win.

3rd Place Car 3 Daniel Ricciardo Red Bull Racing-Renault followed by team mate Car 1 Sebastian Vettel Red Bull Racing-Renault in 4th place, 5th place Car 77 Valtteri Bottas Williams-Mercedes followed by Car 14 Fernando Alonso Ferrari in 6th place. 7th place Car 7 Kimi Räikkönen Ferrari followed by Car 8 Romain Grosjean Lotus-Renault in 8th place. 9th Car 11 Sergio Perez Force India-Mercedes followed by Car 27 Nico Hulkenberg Force India-Mercedes in 10th place which is the last car in the points.

So far in the points Mercedes’ Hamilton has a 100 points to 2nd place Rosberg’s 97 points
with a good lead over 3rd place Fernando Alonso Ferrari at 49 points. In the Constructors Mercedes leading with 197 points over 2nd place Red Bull Racing-Renault 84 points, winning the first 5 races of the season & cars finishing 1st & 2nd in the last 4 races is why they have the great lead.
