Denny Hamlin won the 62nd Annual DAYTONA 500 for his 3rd DAYTONA 500 & 2nd win in a row

Starting from 21st Car 11 Denny Hamlin FedEx Express Toyota won the 62nd Annual DAYTONA 500, his 38th win in 508 NASCAR Cup Series races. This is his 3rd DAYTONA 500 victory and 10th Top 10 finish in 30 races at Daytona International Speedway – he is now tied with Bobby Allison, Dale Jarrett and Jeff Gordon for third-most DAYTONA 500 wins all-time. A driver has won back-to-back Daytona 500s four times – Richard Petty (1973-74), Cale Yarborough (1983-84), Sterling Marlin (1994-95), Denny Hamlin (2019-20). 2nd Place Car 12 Ryan Blaney Menards/Peak Ford, started from 27th place posted his 3rd Top 10 finish in 11 races at Daytona International Speedway. It is his 1st Top 10 finish in 2020. 3rd Place Car 17 Chris Buescher Fastenal Ford, started from 19th place posted his 4th Top 10 finish in 10 races at Daytona International Speedway.

Ryan Newman taken to hospital following last-lap wreck in Daytona 500

Ryan Newman has been taken to a local hospital following a last-lap wreck in the 2020 Daytona 500.
Newman was removed from the car by rescue personnel Monday night at Daytona International Speedway following his involvement in a last-lap, last-turn wreck.
Newman was in the lead coming into the final turn with Ryan Blaney and eventual Daytona 500 winner Denny Hamlin in close pursuit.
