BADLANDS MOTORSPORT RESORT IS ANOTHER STEP CLOSER!

“BADLANDS MOTORSPORT RESORT LAND — USE BYLAW No. 1657 PASSED

January 14, 2014 by Badlands Motorsports Resort

On December 4th, immediately after the public hearing, 2nd Reading of the BMR land use bylaw No. 1657 to allow the rezoning of lands from agriculture to Direct Control District was voted in favour by council.

Today, January 14th, 2014 at the regular meeting of the Kneehill County Council, the Badlands Motorsport Resort Land Use Bylaw # 1657 received third and final reading and was passed.

Our land is now rezoned to SPECIFIC DIRECT CONTROL DISTRICT DC4 that will allow development of BADLANDS MOTORSPORT RESORT.

There are no contingencies. We still need development permits, and to get those we need to complete a Environmental Impact Assessment (which is more detailed than the Biophysical Impact Assessment we have done) and a Traffic Impact Assessment, but this was planned all along.

We are pleased that the project is a go!”

Badlands Motorsports Resort is an extensive Motorsport Facility that has been in works since 2005. October 31, 2008. Alan Wilson designed the multi configuration road course with 3 sections: Upper plateau course, Valley course & Mountain course which can be connected together. This is the biggest news in Alberta motorsports since Castrol Raceway completed the paving of their Road Course last year. Also the biggest news in Southern Alberta since Race City Motorsport Park, located in Calgary, Alberta closed on October 21, 2011.

In a time where we see more Motorsport Facilities close it is good to see a new Motorsport facility moving ahead.
