World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series return to Castrol Raceway Friday & Saturday August 28 & 29

The World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series 9th Annual Oil City Cup is always a great event watching teams fight each night for the $10,000 top prize. This is the biggest racing event of the season on Castrol’s Oval Track! If you have never seen a Sprint Car race, this is your chance to see the most exciting racing in the dirt on the 3/8 mile Clay Oval Track. Imagine 850-plus horsepower engine with 4 wheels, steering wheel, seat, cage & a wing mounted to try keep the car on the ground.

Watch for last years winner 6 time defending series champion Donny Schatz, of for Tony Stewart Racing.

Castrol Raceway, Canada’s Premier Motorsports Complex, annually hosts over 200 races including the nationally recognized events: IHRA MOPAR Rocky Mountain Nitro Jam Nationals, Parts Canada MOPAR CSBK Championship, Monster Truck Throwdown, and World of Outlaws: Sprint Car Series. In addition to the ¼ mile IHRA Sanctioned Drag Strip, 3/8 mile Clay Oval Track and 10 acre Pro Motocross Track, a brand new 2.7 km FIA sanctioned Paved Road Course opened at the Raceway in 2013.

Castrol Raceway is located 10 minutes South of Edmonton. Follow Hwy QEII South, take HWY 19 Exit (Nisku/Leduc) West; located 2 kms West on the left hand side.
