It was a great race for Ryan Hunter-Reay who started 19th and was determined to make his way up front for his 1st Indy 500 win for his 13th career win and 2nd win of 2014. He finally made it up to the lead by lap 100 and had to grab the lead 8 more times until lap 197-200.
2nd Place Car 3 Helio Castroneves, Dallara-Chevy started in 4th place and had the lead 5 times.
3rd place Car 25 Marco Andretti, Dallara-Honda started in 6th place and had the lead 3 times.
4th place Car 34 Carlos Munoz, Dallara-Honda started in 7th place.
5th place Car 2 Juan Pablo Montoya, Dallara-Chevy started in 10th place and had the lead 3 times.
6th place (12) Car 26 Kurt Busch, Dallara-Honda started in 12th place.
7th place Car 11 Sebastien Bourdais, Dallara-Chevy started in 17th place.
8th place Car 12 Will Power, Dallara-Chevy, started in 3rd place and had the lead twice.

The 2nd Caution went up on lap 168 for Contact Car 9 Scott Dixon, Dallara-Chevy and Car 67 Josef Newgarden, Dallara-Honda in Turn 4.
3rd Caution on lap 176 was for Contact Car 20 Ed Carpenter, Dallara-Chevy & Car 27 James Hinchcliffe, Dallara-Honda in Turn 1.
