The 2019 Edmonton Motorcycle & ATV Show Satement:

EDMONTON, AB (January 3, 2019) – The Motorcycle & ATV Show – Edmonton presented by Dalton Timmis Insurance is the industry’s premiere event. The industry leading manufacturers will debut all the new models at the Edmonton Expo Centre, January 11-13.

“Although there are hundreds of new models on display at the Motorcycle & ATV Show – Edmonton,” says Laurie Paetz, Show Manager, “ the following is a sample of some of the must see models for 2019.”

Three Wheelers

The Yamaha Niken GT Revolutionary Leaning Multi Wheel (LMW) chassis provides unparalleled rider confidence over a variety of road conditions. The powerplant is borrowed from the MT/FZ09 platform and offers great power and torque. The Niken comes with advanced electronic rider aids for safety and convenience including cruise control. The GT model comes with hard bags too.

Piaggio debuted the world’s first three-wheel scooter in 2006 and the new 2019 MP3 500 HPE features a number of innovations since that time. Piaggio has reinvented urban mobility. Its liquid cooled 4 stroke single puts out 44 hp, has an automatic transmission (no clutch) and comes standard with ABS and traction control systems. Braking is done with either/or hand and foot controls.

Manual lock and auto unlock means you can stop at traffic lights and never have to put your feet down yet it leans into corners like any two wheel scooter or motorcycle.

The Can-Am Ryker is designed for fun. With its optimized center-of gravity it ensures you are always in complete control. The innovative UFit System™ has adjustable ergonomic features, like footpegs, brake and handlebars you can position according to your build, allowing you to match your ride to your riding style. The Ryker comes with either a Rotax 600 or 900 cc ACE engine offering performance-minded drivers and novices alike an exciting new Sport Mode.

Adventure

The 2019 BMW F850GS is new and improved over its predecessor – the F800GS. 2019 brings 95 hp, spoked wheels (a 21” front) and Rallye styling to make the new GS at home in the dirt. It’s also comfortable on the road with a 6.5’ TFT display and typical GS ergonomics. Options include adjustable seat height plus navigation and connectivity.

The Moto Guzzi V85 TT Adventure is new from the ground up but it’s still based on traditional Italian 90 degree transverse V-twin with shaft drive. Simple, light and practical. The TT acronym, meaning “tutto terreno”, or all-terrain, it identifies a motorcycle dedicated to travel in its purest and most original form. Moto Guzzi V85 TT combines style features reminiscent of the golden age of motorcycle adventures with the content and functionality of a modern touring enduro.

The KTM 790 Adventure and Adventure R arrive in Canada just in time for the motorcycle shows. Both bikes are high performance, lightweight sporty travel bikes with off-road genes. The parallel twin motor has 94 hp and is tuned to deliver its torque lower down in the rev range to fit the specific requirements of adventure riding. With a predicted fuel range of over 400 km your fun won’t stop for hours and your routes won’t be determined by gas stations.

ATV/Side-by-sides

Honda – Honda’s brand new Talon sport Side by Side is performance driven. Honda durability comes from the 999cc parallel twin also used in the Pioneer and Africa Twin. It boasts the industry’s only gear driven transmission offering full auto or full manual shifting via the steering wheel mounted paddle shifters. It has Intelligent 4 WD and hill start assist all wrapped in a beautiful sport chassis.

Suzuki – From the company that invented the 4 wheel ATV comes the new 2019 Suzuki King Quad 500 & 750. The new “King” boast increased performance and class leading towing capacity. New suspension and chassis provide better turning and stability while new bodywork and mag wheels provide the bling.

Can-Am has redesigned the Outlander to increase performance and perfect handling. It’s new intelligent Throttle Control with three driving modes supplies precise skillfulness in unpredictable terrain. Featuring more than a dozen updates including a refreshed appearance and industry-leading towing rate will heighten any off-road adventure.

Cruisers

Harley-Davidson® FXDR™ 114 is designed with a number of alloy and composite components to reduce overall weight. Its inverted race-style forks with single-cartridge technology improves response to steering input and braking and handling performance. It features loads of torque for blasting off from stoplights, hitting entrance ramps, and rolling on the passing power.

Indian Motorcycles is releasing the Chief Dark Horse®. It is defined by its matte finish paint and contrasting gloss black details. New features include ride modes and rear cylinder deactivation.

Other key features include ABS, cruise control, keyless ignition and unrivaled performance from the Thunder Stroke® 111 V-twin engine.

Dual Sport/Off Road

New to the Honda CRF family is the street legal CRF450L. This bike is definitely closely related to the 450R & 450X models. The transmission has added a gear and is now a 6 speed. Increased crank mass, revised valve timing and fueling make it trail and street friendly. It even shares the same bore & stroke as the 450R but the piston is now 3 ring for increased durability.

The 2019 Yamaha YZ250F has an all new engine, new frame, new bodywork and electric start. With the world’s first production 250 cc motocross bike with a wireless smartphone-based engine tuner, allowing riders to adjust fuel and ignition mapping based on conditions.

Kids will love the new Suzuki’s. Little brother or sister will enjoy the new DRZ50 with its low seat height, auto clutch and 3 speed transmission. Big brother or sister will love the new 2019 RM85.

This bike is a proven winner on the motocross track with its lightweight 2 stroke engine and class leading handling.

SuperSport

Aprilia RSV4 1100 Factory boasts exceptional performance combined with a racing frame and suspension and an electronic controls package. It is the lightest, most powerful and fastest RSV4 every created, delivering 217 hp and race-championship pedigree. The limited edition has aero wings just like its MotoGP cousin.

Ducati counters with the Panigale V4. Touted as Ducati’s maximum expression of their racing DNA, This bike provides pure racing adrenaline under control from its 1000 cc dry clutch, 221 HP V4 motor. The Panigale has state of the art Moto GP inspired electronics to make sure the power gets to the ground while the bike remains stable.

Not to be outdone, BMW adds to the mix with their new S1000RR. This is an inline 4 cylinder powerplant boasting 207 HP with a torque curve above 100 NM from 5500 RPM all the way up to 14,500 RPM.

It’s lighter, more powerful and more than its predecessors and has an ergonomically perfect seating position. Want more, add the infamous BMW “M” package to make the ultimate race machine.

Street/Performance

One of the most anticipated bikes of 2019 has to be the Indian FTR1200. Inspired by the championship-winning FTR750 race bike, the flat tracker for the street is here. Fast, agile and thrilling, the all-new FTR 1200 sets a new standard in American motorcycling.

The Ducati Monster 821 Stealth has a more streamlined, agile look with fully redesign tank and tail, an all-new silencer and a headlight that is both classic and contemporary. The liquid-cooled engine delivers a maximum power of 109 hp at 9250 rpm offering exciting performance, easy riding and unmatched fun.

Triumph Scrambler brings a whole new dimension of performance with a significant step-up in power, technology and an even higher level of finish and detailing. With a significantly updated 900cc twin Bonneville engine for more power delivering higher revs makes for a thrilling, agile and responsive ride. There are five riding modes to choose from; road, rain, off-road, sport and rider configurable.

Kawasaki – With class-redefining weight and performance, the all-new 2019 Z400 leads of pack of lightweight naked street bikes. Its strong low-end power is rider friendly. The engine is paired to a 6-speed gearbox which comes with a slipper clutch. The news chassis features a race inspired short-wheelbase/long swing arm design, complemented by a steep caster angle that aims to deliver light, natural handling and stability at speed.

Scooters/Urban Transport

The Vespa Elettrica is a work of art with a technological heart. No fossil fuel required, this baby is all electric. Its advanced connectivity and quiet operation, customization and accessibility,

respect for the environment and unique style are second to none. The Vespa Elettrica is the most modern icon of Italian technology.

BMW’s new C 400 X is a mid-size scooter that overcomes all the urban challenges. It was designed for high efficiency; low revs, high speeds, efficient combustion and minimal friction. This

machine was made for the city – light and maneuverable. The trim components don’t just highlight its urban coolness but also protect you from wind and bad weather.

Touring

The all-new 2019 Versys 1000 LT has a ton of upgrades. The styling has been updated with new cowl and fairings provides. Sport bike power, hard bags and ergonomics that are second to none will keep a smile on your face for days of travelling. Engine performance is managed by way of four ride modes, Sport, Road, Rain or Rider offering either full or low power options.

Honda’s 2019 Gold Wing brings its iconic style to Canada in two versions, the 6 speed manual transmission for the traditional rider and the new 7 speed DCT automatic. The DCT is clutchless but has different automatic modes and thumb/forefinger manual shifting. Adjustable electric windshield, advanced LED lighting, Bluetooth connectivity, Apple Carplay and integrated self-cancelling LED turn signals are just a few of the features. A stationary demo will be available at the Show to test out the DCT transmission.
