Interview with the 2016 NASCAR Feature Stock Champion Car 27 Rick Parenteau

Velocity: Congratulations on the win in the biggest NASCAR Feature Stock race. Your class earned the name Mayhem Madness, as your entire field was 4 cars wide going into corner1.

Rick Parenteau: I guess that is how we like to do it.

Velocity: I saw from start the 3 of you, yourself, Justin Horton & Austin Ogonoski started back in the field.

Rick Parenteau: This was the 1st time we qualified & then they inverted the qualifying putting the fast cars mid pack or at the back. It was fun it took the full 75 laps to work the traffic & it was Mayhem.

Velocity: You guys put on a super great show

Rick Parenteau: This race we were supposed to run the 75-lap race last weekend but it got rained out. The Top 3 cars were within 2 points, so it came down to the last race. It came down to who ever won the race won the championship. I have been racing that car 6 years, I have at least 1 win every year but that was the most important win I have ever had on it.

Velocity: You also ran a Stacker tonight getting a 3rd place. So what is your car?

Rick Parenteau: My car is a 1990 Honda Accord, it is probably the oldest car running. These Chevy’s & GM products are really fast, but I just had my car hooked up, I have been working on it all season. I finally got there, it was all or nothing. I lost my front bumper so I will have to rebuild the front-end for next year. Justin Horton who I was racing at the end, we built & worked on building half the field of cars. We will be building some more in the off-season so the cars will just get faster & faster & more 4 wide racing.

NASCAR Super Stock
Great night for Car 11 Calvin McGill who won the NASCAR Super Stock Feature race & both heat races. Calvin was also racing Stacker Car 11 with his brother Calvin McGill. 2nd Place Car 96 Erica Thiering but did win the 2016 NASCAR Super Stock Championship. 3rd Place Car 27 Brian Morrison.

Interview with the 2016 NASCAR Super Stock Champion Car 96 Erica Thiering

Velocity: Congratulations on your 8th NASCAR Super Stock Championship & this year was great how many races did you run this year?

Erica Thiering: 12 races, I won 9 races & lost 3.

Velocity: So next year are you going back for the next season.

Erica Thiering: Ideally I would like to do the Pinty’s Series.

Velocity: So sponsorship will help with that, if someone is looking for a good driver with 8 Championships they cannot go wrong.

Erica Thiering: I guess not.

Velocity: You had said something about Vegas.

Erica Thiering: We are not sure if we are going quite yet, we are working on Sponsorship for that. We went last year & we were doing really really well, I was going for 2nd place & then the rear end went.

Velocity: That would suck.

Erica Thiering: Yes it did, it was quite frustrating, it is what it is.

Velocity: Well it was good to see you out there tonight pushing it, you made Calvin earn the win.

Erica Thiering: Yeah we had a fast car but we just couldn’t get around Calvin, that is the way she goes. He ran a good defensive line, you can’t beat that.

Velocity: You do NOT to give up the bottom at this place.

Erica Thiering: Absolutely not. I had the outside on the 1st heat; it was really hooked up for us, after that it just went away.

Velocity: Thank you & congratulations again & we look to see you next year.

Erica Thiering: Thanks Chris
