The event will challenge competitors and entertain the thousands of spectators looking for spectacular race action. The VLT Operators of Leduc and Nisku were formed in 1997 and to date has contributed in excess of $700,000 back to the community supporting the development of major non-profit capital projects, and numerous community organizations. Spokesperson Perry Batke says, “We consider Castrol Raceway as one of our community’s most important family entertainment facilities. We are proud to provide sponsorship support to the NASCC in their development of the LA1K and believe this race will become one of the feature motorsport racing events in Western Canada. The LA1K has all of the ingredients of becoming a signature event creating economic benefits to the City and County of Leduc”.

NASCC was founded in 1957 and organized its first sports car race August 16, 1958 at the Edmonton International Airport.

The NASCC has always been affiliated with the Geneva based FIA. Therefore, NASCC members have always enjoyed connection to international motorsports. NASCC motorsports are family activities. Children and even grandchildren of NASCC members are now active in the club.

Many NASCC members have gone on to play roles in prominent international motorsports, having learned to prepare and drive cars and organize events in the competitive yet supportive environment of the NASCC. The club also supports the community – for example, it has been involved with CHED’s Santa’s Anonymous for over 30 years.
