The next session of Coors Light Knock out Qualifying was 24 cars for round # 2 and then 12 cars in the final round # 3. Car 3 Ty Dillon VF/Jiffy Lube Chevrolet won the Coors Light Pole Award for the 18th Annual Boyd Gaming 300 with a lap of 29.625 & speed of 182.278 mph.

There were two major stories in Las Vegas Motor Speedway 18th Annual Boyd Gaming 300 Car 22 Brad Keselowski Discount Tire Ford dominance & winning race. Car 54 Kyle Busch Monster Energy Toyota starting in 37th place due to a penalty for (unapproved adjustments) and then fighting his way to pressure the leader with 2 laps to go for the 2nd place finish and just missing the win by margin of .349 seconds. Brad Keselowski Discount Tire Ford had the lead 4 times and the last time from lap 163 – lap 200. The tense part of the race was when on lap 185 Keselowski reported potential electrical issues to his crew, but he still leads by nearly 1.5 seconds over Kyle Busch. Busch had the lead 3 times as he kept fighting to win in his hometown.
The race was 2Â hours, 16 minutes & 26 seconds with a distance of 300 miles/200 laps and average speed of 131.995 MPH. There was 5 cautions for 27 laps but the different part of the race was on lap 64 Race control is stopped seven cars Ryan Seig, Chase Elliott, JJ Yeley, Jeremy Clements, Matt Crafton, Tanner Berryhill and Regan Smith — on the frontstretch to get everyone back on the correct lap from when the caution displayed. Lap 65 after that sorting-out, Chase Elliott is awarded the free pass for that last caution & pit road is opened.
