2 Races down Kevin Harvick & Dale Earnhardt Jr. in the Chase already

With the Sprint Cup Series chase format a win is worth gold over ending in good position. Ricky Bobby said “If you ain’t 1st your last” will be the motto for the 2014 season.

Earnhardt and Harvick will make the Chase unless there are more than 15 different winners in the first 26 races which has only happened twice in NASCAR Sprint Cup, so the odds are good. 2 Wins in the 26 races guarantees a seat bin the chase.

Busch Brothers Homecoming!

Kyle Busch and Kurt Busch return home to Las Vegas Motor Speedway. The big news is Kurt Busch announced he will be attempt to race in both the Coca-Cola 600 and the Indianapolis 500 this year on May 25. This has only been done by 3 other drivers: Tony Stewart, John Andretti and Robby Gordon.

“I’ve always just tried to challenge myself in motorsports,” Kurt told NASCAR.com, “and to be a student of all kind of cars — dirt tracks, road courses, superspeedways, short track, open wheel, and of course, our stock cars … it’s a chance to challenge myself, to do something physically and mentally as a driver, and show how tough NASCAR drivers are.”

Look for Mr. 6 time Jimmie Johnson Car 48 coming on strong this weekend as Kobalt is one of his sponsors & Hendrick engines have won the first 2 races.

Also this will be the 2nd time for NASCAR Sprint Cup Coors Light Knock out Qualifying should give an interesting result.
