New NASCAR Championship Chase Format Has No Favorites Unless You Win

Jimmie Johnson Car 48 and Matt Kenseth Car 20 were 1 & 2 in the Chase last year & should be favorites to win this year but neither have a win this year.  Watch for them to bring it up a notch in the next few races to get that all needed win. There has been 7 different races with 7 different drivers winners, the new format has changed everything.

Jeff Gordon car 24 tried his hardest for the win by gambling on 2 tires at Texas to just get 2nd place which puts him as the points leader. The win being so important if there are 16 winners this the points leader will NOT make the Chase. I said it before like Ricky Bobby said “ If you aren’t 1st you are last!

Watch out for the Smoke, Tony Stewart car 14 is on a comeback from his 2013 broken and has 3 top 10’s in the season so far, as 2 of his team mates already have wins.

The Kyle Busch car 18 needs 30 more laps to become the 15th driver in NASCAR Sprint Cup Series history to reach 10,000 career laps led.

Rookie to watch out for is Sunoco Rookie of the Year points leader Kyle Larson car 42 who has finished in the Top 10’s & won his 1st nationwide race this year. There is a lot of rookies this year that will be making their first Darlington start in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, with a tough track like this it could be an interesting result.
