24th Annual IMCA Roy Ross Memorial Race
Car 92 Mike Clark won the 24th Annual IMCA Roy Ross Memorial Race at Edmonton International Raceway for his 2nd Roy Ross Memorial Race win. This was an exciting race as Mike went 3 wide on lap 4 to grab the lead. There was lots of pressure on each re-start but he was able to keep the lead to the Checkered flag. Best Lap Best Speed By Competitor (00:13.600)66.176 km/h Mike Clark. 2nd Place Car 81 Tyler Knowles followed by 3rd place Car 46 Jaime Krzysik.

Roy Ross Memorial Race Todd RC Ross Statement

Well, his nickname is “Superman” and he had to make some super moves to go from the 8th starting position to leading the race from lap 4 till the 47 final lap of the 24th Roy Ross Memorial Race. Congrats to Mike Clark making him one of 5 to win two Roy Ross Memorials. (Dan Saunders, Keri Wheeler, Wheeler Boys and BJ Clark) Mike and his brother B.J. are the only brothers who have both won 2 Memorials. The Brothers are the only active racers in IMCA that have two championships, they are already talking about next year, to see who might be first to win a third!

24th Annual IMCA Roy Ross Memorial Race Hardest Charger
Congrats to Tyler Knowles this year’s Roy Ross Memorial Race Hard Charger! Tyler remains the youngest IMCA driver to compete in a RR Memorial in 2016 at age 14 yrs 82 days! He has improved every year since posting a 15th place in 2016, 9th place 2017, 8th Place 2018 &2019. But this year he pulls in just behind the 2 Time Champ Mike Clark, finishing second and having gained 8 positions a winning the “Hard Charger” Trophy! In 2015, Barry McTavish suggested that a great addition to the competition would be to have a Hard Charger Trophy for the race, I asked what is a hard charger, well it’s the driver who passes more cars than anyone else in the field. Great idea, but wouldn’t that always go to the Champ! Not necessary, I was told! Ok, Let’s do it Past winners are ranked in order of most positions gained in one RR Memorial Race. Years with tiebreakers go to the driver who finishes ahead of the other driver. Both Drivers are listed in the tiebreaker years. Also added some years before the 2015 Trophy was added for interest’s sake!

24th Annual IMCA Roy Ross Memorial Race Fastest Time-in
Another first for Chad Malone as he registers his first Fastest Time-in at a Roy Ross Memorial Race. Chad has been one of the top four fastest Drivers in 5 of 6 attempts at the Memorial since 2014.

Roy Ross Memorial Trophy Dash
16-year-old Rylyn Malone is the first woman to win a major event in IMCA history! She won the 24th Roy Ross Memorial Trophy Dash, edging out fellow “Young Guns” #13 Emma Fitzpatrick 2nd, #91 Cameron Grover 3rd and #54 Alex Krause 4th! It is amazing that half of this year’s field of racers weren’t even born when my Dad was racing the #47 car for the International Motor Contest Associates sanctioning body!
