One of the things that made the race so exciting is the battling between Car 20 Matt Kenseth & Car 42 Kyle Larson to the checkered flag. Matt Kenseth was somehow able to hold off Kyle Larson & beat him to the checkered flag with a Margin of Victory: Â 0.187 Seconds. Kenseth’s win is the 135th NASCAR Sprint Cup Series victory for Joe Gibbs Racing, tying the organization with Roush Fenway Racing for the third-most wins in NSCS history. As I said before with the way Kyle Larson was driving he should have his 1st NASCAR Sprint Cup Series win soon. Car 24 Chase Elliott was doing a great job of keeping up with Kenseth & Larson, waiting for his chance to take advantage of the other 2 battling for the win.
Kenseth said; “It feels good to be here, been a tough few months, for sure, these guys did a great job, did a great job on pit road today. Obviously (crew chief) Jason (Ratcliff) and these guys did a great job with the car and adjustments as well as Toyota and TRD (Toyota Racing Development). We had a good car today. I thought we were competitive and there were a few guys at different parts of the race that were a little bit better and Kyle gave me all I wanted at the end – and then some. We were fortunate to be able to hold him off.”
