Car 18 Tyler Emond won the Evolution CupCar Series Feature at Edmonton International Raceway EIR August 22, 2015. 2nd Place Car 10 Alex Krause. 3rd Place Car 44 Blake Hamilton.

4th Place Car 7 Travis Dolter followed by 5th place Car 77 Faith Luther. 6th Place Car 1 Blaine Kopeck followed by 7th place Car 28 Autumn Kopeck. 8th Place Car 95 Rylee McKinnet followed by 9th place Car 99 Ryerson Whissel. Lastly in the Top 10 was Car 23 Kaylee Wilkie in 10th place.
Evolution Cupcar Series are Mini Cup Cars that are 1/2 scale stock cars built just the Sprint Cup cars you see on TV. It is a class specifically designed for youth ages 9 to 16 who could be the next Carl Edwards or Danica Patrick. These race teams are different than Nascar as crew chief and crew are made up of family. Mom, dad, brother & sister these are families having fun at the race track.

They are also out helping each other, if a car breaks you have other teams helping out to make sure no kid misses a race. With Mini Cup Cars & Baby Grand Cars the whole family can go racing & with this group that’s exactly what they are doing.

Interview with Rob Hamilton
Velocity: “About the weekend in EIR was there a roll over in mini cup?”
Rob Hamilton: “Unfortunately we had to prove again how good these chassis are. Tyler Knowles Car 84 went over twice actually, that is the first one we have had in 7 years.’

Velocity: “Well did the safety equipment did it’s job?”
Rob Hamilton: “Perfectly, we make sure the kids have head clearance with the chassis, helmets, gloves, a five point harness, most of the kids are wearing head & neck restraints. The safety equipment did what it was supposed to do which was awesome. So happy that everything worked out in the end, Tyler was back working on his car the next night.”
Velocity: “I know Rylee McKennit missed Medicine Hat but I see it was good to see her back in the car.”

Rob Hamilton: “Oh for sure she got back in, missed a couple of technical things on the car, we had just put it together the night she had the crash. Didn’t go back in a double check the car, she was a little off on speed but she was sure trying.
Velocity: “Did she feel good afterwards?”
Rob Hamilton: “Yes she felt fine, she wanted to the race the Sunday that is what made her the maddest, she was not able to race the next day.”
Velocity: “I see Faith Luther won her 1st heat.”
Rob Hamilton: “It is crazy Faith has been flying, she is bang on her line, she is hitting her marks, she is doing great that way. The 1 Car Blaine Kopeck, he has been phenomenal, very awesome driving. They have a real family battle going on most of the between Blaine & his sister Car 28 Autumn Kopeck. Neither one wants to lose to the other one. The other one was 23 Car Kaylee Wilkie, no idea where the speed came from, but she drove awesome, she drove really good. She won a heat race 2 race weekends ago, I think a switch turned on & she has it figured out now. It is quite nice to see all the kids improve throughout the year; we are at that point now, it really shows the progression in the season.

Velocity: “I see your Annual Test Drive (Arrive & Drive) is on October 4th.”
Rob Hamilton: “Maybe having to add a second date, I think I already have 5-6 kids already booked for the October 4th date. I haven’t had a chance to talk to Medicine Hat to see if they want to do a date there. ideally I would like to get 2 groups of 8.
Velocity: “So you have some big USA races in October?
Rob Hamilton: “3 Teams & Cars on going to Californa & 10 Teams & Cars going to Las Vegas.
Annual Test Drive (Arrive & Drive)
October 4th, Evolution Racing Products will be putting on their annual Test Drive for families that are interested in getting into the sport/series. For $75, your child (aged 8-16) will have an opportunity to drive a race ready CupCar for at least 2-10 lap sessions. Helmet and fire suit will also be provided.
