Destruction brings the return of mayhem to Castrol Raceway! And that’s not all! Other events include: Spec-D Drifting, Street Legal, Motorcycle Track Attack, EMRA, Bracket Racing and Track Junkies Open Lapping. Keep reading for all the full details that you won’t want to miss!

SPEC-D DRIFT PRACTICE. Spec-D Drifting offers a place for new and experienced drivers to put their skills to the test on the Castrol Raceway skid-pad. All that is required is a DOT helmet and a
simple safety tech inspection. Ride-alongs for spectators are also welcomed with most drivers. Drivers: $40, Spectators $10. Gates Open at 5 PM, with tech shortly after to ensure drivers can get

FRIDAY, September 1

ROAD COURSE: MOTORCYCLE TRACK ATTACK. Castrol Raceway and the EMRA are once again thrilled to host “Track Attack” motorcycle track days at Castrol Raceway. If you have a great time riding your bike on the street—imagine riding on an open track with none of the hazards of street riding and all of the safety of a closed course. An environment where you can really open it up and push your limits. Events are open to riders of every skill level. Each event will group riders into 3 groups, Novice, Intermediate, and Racer (race license required). Also new riders can purchase Performance riding schools through On Track Performance http://www.ontrackperformance.ca for personalized track based learning. Each event will have experienced riders available in order to help you enjoy your day.

Please note: Some basic bike preparation is necessary to participate in a Track Attack event. Many people ride their bike to the track and prep their bike before the session starts and this is adequate as long as new riders are ready to go before the track walk. Basic Bike Prep includes:

* Ensure the bike is in good working order (throttle should move freely, brake pads must have sufficient material and brake fluid should be bled if fluid is old)

* Tires are in good shape and are clear of cracks and have adequate tread remaining

* No leaks; for example, engine fluids are contained, fork seals are good, and all hoses are in good shape

* Bodywork and other items are securely fastened to the motorcycle

* No bike will be allowed on the track if the organizers deem the bike to be unsafe

Required riding gear:

* 1 or 2 piece leather or textile suit, if 2 piece it must zip together around the waist

* Riding boots at least ankle high

* Gauntlet style gloves (covering the wrist)

* Helmet rated for motorcycle track use (i.e. Snell M2010, ECE 22.05)

DRAG STRIP: JB’S POWER CENTRE STREET LEGAL. The NHRA sanctioned 1/4 mile Drag strip at Castrol Raceway is home to one of Canada’s fastest growing factions of Street Rods and Sport Compact Cars. Since the inception of the “Fast and The Furious” sub-culture the demand for extreme sports is ever increasing. Competitors and spectators jump at the chance to see their friends, family and adversaries compete on the quarter mile.

Castrol Raceway works very closely with the Leduc RCMP, Stony Plain RCMP, Edmonton Police Service, and numerous local High Schools to not only promote the sport, but to encourage young street racers to take their passion for speed to a safe environment.

Join us at Castrol Raceway and race your vehicle during the weekly JB’s Power Centre Street Legal. As long as your vehicle is register-able and insurable… you’re good to go! Streel Legal is presented in conjunction with Edmonton Police Service’s Blue Line Racing Association, and the RCMP’s Y.I.E.L.D. program.

Race All Night for only $40. Spectators: $10. Gates open at 5 PM and racing starts at 6:30 PM. Tech Closes at 9 PM most evenings.
