Justin Haley won the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series rain postponed & shortened race at Daytona

The 61st Annual Coke Zero Sugar 400 race at Daytona International Speedway was postponed due to rain from Saturday July 5 to Sunday July 6. The race was getting exciting as lightning was approaching and the teams were racing like it was 10 laps to go, at that point the big one happened from the front. They almost restarted the race but there was lightning & rain, so they called the race giving the win to Justin Haley.

Starting from 34th place Car 77 Justin Haley Fraternal Order of Eagles Chevrolet won the 61st Annual Coke Zero Sugar 400, his 1st win in 3 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series races. This is his 1st win & 1st Top 10 finish in 2019. This is his 1st win & 1st Top 10 finish in his series track debut at Daytona International Speedway. Haley becomes the 20th different driver to win his first Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series race at Daytona and the 10th to accomplish the feat in the July race. Haley becomes the second youngest Monster Energy Series winner at Daytona at the age of 20 years, 2 months and 9 days behind Trevor Bayne (20 years, 0 months, 1 day).

2nd Place Car 24 William Byron Axalta Patriotic Chevrolet, started from 12th place posted his 1st Top 10 finish in 4 races at Daytona International Speedway. It is his 6th Top 10 finish in 2019. 3rd Place Car 48 Jimmie Johnson Ally Chevrolet, started from 14th place posted his 16th Top 10 finish in 36 races at Daytona International Speedway.

4th Place Car 13 Ty Dillon GEICO Military Chevrolet, started from 23rd place followed by 5th place Car 6 Ryan Newman Roush Performance Ford, started from 18th place. 6th Place Car 32 Corey LaJoie Shine Armor Ford, started from 30th place followed by 7th place Car 10 Aric Almirola Smithfield Anytime Favorites Ford, started from 11th place. 8th Place Car 95 Matt DiBenedetto Procore Toyota, started from 25th place followed by 9th place Car 36 Matt Tifft # Ron Jon Surf Shop Ford, started from 31st place was the highest finishing rookie in the points series. Lastly in the Top 10 was Car 1 Kurt Busch Global Poker Chevrolet, in 10th place, started from 8th place. Joey Logano leads the point standings by 18 points over Kyle Busch.
