It was supposed to be a Double Feature Weekend at EIR, but at race time, torrential rains cancelled the Saturday July 30 event. The clouds threatened all night on Sunday July 31 but did not effect racing, with-in 5 kms of the track, it rained on the way home.
NASCAR Super Stock
Car 96 Erica Thering won the NASCAR Super Stock Feature Race from green flag to checker. 2nd Place Car 27 Ian Wilson. 3rd Place Car 11 Calvin McGill. Calvin McGill won the 1st Heat race causing Erica Thering to pick it up a notch & never look back. Next race August 6 at EIR is a NASCAR Super Stocks (Double Feature).

Evolution Cupcar Series (Minicup)
Car 28 Autumn Kopeck also won the Evolution Cupcar Series (Minicup) Feature Race from green flag to checker. 2nd Place was Autumn’s brother Car 1 Blaine Kopeck. 3rd Place Car 95 Rylee McKinnet. These kids always put on a great show & always surprise me with how much skill they have at such a young age. It was fantastic to see Car 77 Faith Addison back in the car racing hard after the crash the week before. Faith has a great skill in being able to work the 2nd groove, which is very tough at EIR. On the 1st lap Car 12 Rylyn Malone had contact in corner 4, when she pulled into the pits besides her dad, other parents ran to see if they could help. The damage on the car was a bent axel that was too much for a quick fix.

NASCAR Feature Stock
Car 27 Richard Parenteau won the NASCAR Feature Stock Feature Race. 2nd Place Car 2 Austin Ogonoski. 3rd Place Car 1 Daniel Lenik. The Mayhem Madness Class did not disappoint again as it was an exciting finish. Car 1 Daniel Lenik led most of the race, in the last 2 laps the leaders were approaching the to be lapped cars. The slower cars had no place to go as they were 2 wide in their own race with the leaders being 2-3 wide behind them. The finish was exciting with all the cars fighting for the checkered flag. For such an affordable racing it looks like 100% fun.

Baby Grand Canada Northwest Scaled Late Model
Starting from last place Car 22 Michael Kipp won the Baby Grand Canada Northwest Scaled Late Model Feature Race. 2nd Place Car 95 James McKennitt. 3rd Place Car 69 Ken Brown. This is a great Spec class, it is basically a late model car scaled down in size.

Car 94 Jeff McTavish won the IMCA Feature Race. 2nd Place Car 90 BJ Clark. 3rd Place Car 23 Barry Mctravish. Remember the biggest IMCA Modified Race is the Roy Ross Memorial Race Saturday August 13 at EIR. Like I have said before it is always worth the drive to Wetaskiwin to see great oval racing at EIR, make sure you do Not miss this one.
