Evolution Cupcar Series 2016 Recap & the 2017 Schedule

Evolution CupCar Series are Mini Cup Cars that are 1/2 scale stock cars built just like the Monster Energy Cup cars you see on TV. It is a class specifically designed for youth ages 9 to 16 who could be the next Kyle Busch or Danica Patrick. These race teams are different than Nascar as crew chief and crew are made up of family. Mom, dad, brother & sister these are families having fun at the race track. They are also out helping each other, if a car breaks you have other teams helping out to make sure no kid misses a race. With Mini CupCars & Baby Grand Cars the whole family can go racing & with this group that’s exactly what they are doing. This is one of my favorite oval classes, it is great to see these young people getting faster & improving their skill. If your kid wants to go racing this might be the right class for them with the specs being even racing & the safety of the cars.

Watch out Danica Patrick for the racers of the Evolution CupCar Series
This was the year for young ladies of the Evolution CupCar Series. Car 77 Faith Addison won 3 Championships: Evolution CupCar Series, Medicine Hat Speedway & Hythe Motor Speedway. Car 28 Autumn Kopeck won the Edmonton International Raceway Championship. Car 95 Rylee McKennitt was in 2nd place in the Evolution CupCar Series & the Edmonton International Raceway Championships.

Some great Rookies also came out of 2016: Evolution CupCar Series Car 71 Carrissa Elliot, Edmonton International Raceway Car 12 Rylyn Malone & Medicine Hat Speedway Car 20 Owen Harbour. Great job by Rylyn Malone getting a win in her 1st season & ended up in 4th place in the Edmonton International Raceway Championship.

Faith Addison of Lucky 7s Racing had an eventful season, she was in a big crash during the NASCAR Pinty’s Series weekend. When she was ready to return to racing she had her appendix taken out & missed another race. It is great to see someone so young with so much tenacity & determination. It is not surprising to find out she will be running in the Evolution CupCar Series & Baby Grand Canada Northwest Scaled Late Models Championships.
