10 LAP STOCK CAR TEST DRIVES & RACING SCHOOL

The 10 Lap Test Drive & Race Schools are excellent way to introduce yourself to the 1/4-mile PAVED Oval at Edmonton Int’l Raceway.

2018 Edmonton Int’l Raceway/Sunset Speedway celebrates 50 years! Truly a unique milestone for any Motorsports Facility! Thank you everyone!

Some things to note:

Schedule is looking great

LUXXUR 300 is going to be even bigger this year

We continue our “building” project at the Track – to be unveiled this year

We will continue our $5 Front Gate Entry (except for a few Special Events)

We are hosting a Super Late Model Twin 100 Feature Special Event on September 1

The NASCAR Super Stock Class is looking really exciting for this year

Lots of NEW Partners are in the works for our 2018 and will be announced soon

Our support class for the LUXXUR 300

“At this time, we have not made a decision who the second class will be for the NPS Race on July 28th. We like to use this event to showcase EIR’s other classes. We have included the Mini Cups as the fans are excited to see the young ones race and the Mini Cups have a great car count which is necessary for this event. We have decided to make this a bit of a contest so to speak and will base this on Registration numbers. We are opening this up to the following classes:

IMCA Modifieds

Baby Grands

Feature Stocks

Super Trucks

Thunder Cars

However, to be eligible, the winning class must have a minimum of 10 registered cars in their class from which we will make a decision. We will open this up until April 1, 2018 and see what happens.”

Get involved in motorsports: volunteer!

Volunteering is what makes events happen from the organizers of the event to the person taking your ticket; it takes a lot of people to make an event work. The best way to watch a race is to be in the race car, the 2nd best way is to be a volunteer.

Oval Racing Volunteer positions:
Race Director, Corner Marshals, Rescue personnel: Ambulance crew, Fireman & Clean-up Crew, Tow Truck driver, Pace Car Driver, Track Announcer, Timing personnel, Tech, Registration & Back Gate, Starter, Pitlane, Stop & go, Lineups, Pace Car Driver, Clean-up Crew & Security.

Volunteer meeting will be organized for the end of March.
