Dinosaur Downs Speedway Statement:
Dinosaur Downs Speedway is a non-profit society operated by the Drumheller Stampede and Agricultural Society. We have two dirt tracks, a 3/8 mile banked oval and a 1/2 mile flat track. Our flat dirt track was originally built for horse racing, and has been used for chuckwagon racing. This year we will be using it for motorcycle racing and Model-T races. In 2006 a 3/8 mile dirt oval was built, with continuous stock car and modified racing for the past seven years. In 2016 we welcomed over 4000 race enthusiasts through our gates. We had national media coverage from Driving.ca; the national magazine: Inside Track Motorsport News; and locally in The Calgary Herald, Strathmore Times and Chestermere Anchor City News. 2017 will feature new classes of race cars and motorcycles to
our track.

May 13 -14 Classes: I.M.C.A. Modifieds and Sport Mods, N.P.P. Late Models, Hobby Stocks.
(Ladies get in Free on Mother’s Day, May 14)
June 3 -4 Classes: I.M.C.A. Modifieds and Sport Mods, Hobby stocks.
July 1-2 Classes: Canada 150 Celebration Weekend. I.M.C.A. Modifieds and Sport Mods, Alberta Dirt Super Stocks, Alberta Fairgrounds T-Racers (Model T racing), Antique Tractor Pull.
Aug. 19-20 Classes: I.M.C.A. Modifieds and Sport Mods, Hobby Stocks, Flat Track Motorcycle racing,
Sept. 16-17 Classes: I.M.C.A. Dirt Super Nationals ( $10,000 prize money payout for the weekend).
Central Alberta Hobby Stocks.
Sept 30-Oct. 1: Rain dates.

After a long winter, the season opens on the Mother’s Day weekend. Mother’s Day (May 14) Ladies get in FREE !
We have a great show, with a tractor pull, Model T racing and lots of surprises for the Canada Day 150 weekend.
At the August 19 & 20 weekend, we feature car and motorcycle race., There will also be a a dance with Cat Country Band on Aug 19.
September 16 & 17 we have the first annual Canadian I.M.C.A. Dirt Super Nationals. $10.00 Monster Truck rides too.

Get involved in motorsports: volunteer!
Volunteers are the people that make events happen from the organizers of the event to the person taking your ticket; it takes a lot of people to make an event work.
