The 57th Annual Daytona 500 Qualifying & Budweiser Duels Starting Line Up by Row
Car 24 Jeff Gordon Drive to End Hunger Chevrolet won the Coors Light Pole Award for the 57th Annual Daytona 500 with a lap of 44.711 seconds & speed of 201.293 mph. This is his 78th pole in 762 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races & this is his first pole and 1st Top 10 start in 2015. This is also his fourth pole in 45 races at Daytona International Speedway. Jeff Gordon’s pole speed is the 1st official pole above 200 mph at Daytona International Speedway since 1987 (Bill Elliott, 210.364 mph).
2nd Place was Car 48 Jimmie Johnson Lowe’s Chevrolet with a lap of 44.746 seconds & a speed 201.135 mph. Johnson posted his 1st Top 10 start of 2015 & his 19th in 27
races at Daytona International Speedway. Hendrick Motorsports has swept the front row of the Daytona 500 four times: 2015, 2011, 2010 and 1989. Jeff Gordon & Jimmie
Johnson will start on the front row for the Daytona 500, unless they make an engine change, unauthorised modifications or switch to back-up car.
3rd Place was Car 11 Denny Hamlin FedEx Express Toyota with a lap of 44.791 & speed of 200.933 mph. Denny Hamlin posted his 9th Top 10 start at Daytona International Speedway & it is his 1st of this season. Hamlin will be on the outside pole for the Budweiser Duel #1. 4th Place Car 20 Matt Kenseth Dollar General Toyota with a lap of 44.952 & speed of 200.214 mph.
5th Place Car 18 Kyle Busch M&M’s Crispy Toyota with a lap of 44.958 & speed of 200.187 mph followed by 6th place Car 5 Kasey Kahne Farmers Insurance Chevrolet 4 with a lap of 5.030& speed of 199.867 mph. 7th Place Car 19 Carl Edwards Arris Toyota with a lap of 45.492 & speed of 197.837 mph followed by 8th place Car 33 Ty Dillon Cheerios/Kroger Chevrolet with a lap of 45.568 & speed of 197.507 mph. 9th Place Car 3 Austin Dillon DOW Chevrolet with a lap of 45.694 & speed of 196.962 mph followed by 10th place Car 88 Dale Earnhardt Jr. Nationwide Chevrolet with a lap of 46.135 & speed of 195.080 mph.
Jeff Gordon in his final Daytona 500 wins pole for the 2nd time in his career, he has won the race 3 times.
