Andrew Ranger Wins 2 in a Row in NASCAR Canadian Tire Series

Starting from 5th place Car 27 Andrew Ranger Mopar/Exide Dodge wins NASCAR Canadian Tire Series at the Alberta Has Energy 300 Edmonton International Raceway for 19th career win.

This is his 2nd win in a row after winning Jiffy Lube 100 Mirabel Quebec road course and his first oval race since August 2009. The 2-time champion won with a Margin of Victory of .177 Seconds over 2nd place Car 47 L.P. Dumoulin WeatherTech Canada/Bellemare Dodge who started in 4th place.

3rd Place Car 3 Jason Hathaway Rockstar Energy Drink Chevrolet started in 8th place.

4th Place Car 84 J.R. Fitzpatrick Equipment Express Chevrolet started in 3rd place followed by 5th place Car 17 D.J. Kennington Castrol Edge/Mahindra Tractors Dodge, who started in 9th place.

6th Place Car 25 Joey McColm Canada’s Best Store Fixtures Dodge, started in 6th place followed by 7th place Car 56 Larry Jackson AVMIC/Stratafax/B&B Decals Dodge started in 15th place.

8th Place Car 22 Scott Steckly Canadian Tire/Mobil 1 Dodge started in 7th place followed by 9th place Car 24 Stefan Rzadzinski Goldmark Diesel/Christenson Dvlpmts, who started in 18th place.

Last in the Top 10: Car 5 Noel Dowler EMCO/MFP/Praxair Dodge, who started in 14th place.

Car 18 Alex Tagliani EpiPen/Dicom Express Dodge, won the pole earlier in the day and led the field from the start to lap 268 in search of his 1st NASCAR Canadian Tire Series win.

Late in the race on lap 269,  Car 27 Andrew Ranger Mopar/Exide Dodge got a chance to pass Alex Tagliani and took it. He then proceeded to hold off Car 47 L.P. Dumoulin WeatherTech Canada/Bellemare Dodge, and Car 3 Jason Hathaway Rockstar Energy Drink for the win.

Some of the fans at the track said it was a great race to watch and liked the track improvements.

The Alberta Has Energy 300 will air on TSN on Sunday, July 20 at 3 p.m. and on RDS2 on Saturday, July 26, 3 p.m.
