Car 10 Alex Krause won the Medicine Hat Speedway 2014 Track Championship with 608 points. 2nd Place Car 24 Layne Hamilton 606 points followed by 3rd place Car 36 Kiera McLean 420 points. 4th Place Car 2 Patrick Labrash 605 points followed by 5th place Car 12 Chantal Orman 561 points. 6th Place Car 44 Blake Hamilton 554 points followed by 7th place Car 77 Faith Luther 493 points & 2014 Track Rookie of the Year.
8th Place Car 45 Colton Orman 486 points.
This was the closest points race for the Evolution Cupcar series to date! Many congratulated Car 10 Alex Krause for the win & winning the MHRA Championship! Also Congratulations to Car 36 Kiera McLean for your first ever podium finish with more to come in the future. Condolences were also given Patrick Labrash for the unfortunate incident of having your car stolen. While it was good to get it back, the car was just not the same as it usually was.
The qualifying started off with Car 10 Alex Krause set the fast time of the day with a 19.51. Car 24 Layne Hamilton in 2nd place with a time of 19.78, 3rd place Car 44 Blake Hamilton with a time of 19.88. 4th Place Car 12 Chantal Orman with a time 19.94, 5th Place Car 36 Kiera McLean with a time 19.98. 6th Place Car 2 Patrick Labrash with a time 20.01, 7th place Car 77 Faith Luther with a time 20.16. 8th Car 45 Colton Orman with a time 20.45.
Alex Krause won the 1st heat race as Layne Hamilton won the 2nd heat race. Going into the feature Layne Hamilton & Alex Krause were tied for 2nd overall, about 6 points behind the 2 car. With the 2 car off his normal pace, the MHRA championship was going to be determined by this 1 race. Alex Krause was outside pole and Layne Hamilton was inside the second row. Unfortunately the intermittent engine misfire Hamilton has been struggling with for the past few races came into play when Layne had the Krause on the outside of him allowing the Krause to take over second place at the time. Alex ended up winning with Layne in second. MHRA championship final positions: Alex Krause, Layne, Patrick Labrash.

Last race for the baby grands in 2014. Car 24 Layne Hamilton will be racing both his Action Restoration Ltd. baby grand and mini cup. He currently sits in 3rd place overall – 6 points behind 2nd and 10 points up on 4th in the baby grand national. 4 Drivers will be doing double duty this weekend. Come catch the action!
After the season is done some of Evolution CupCar Series are headed to Roseville, California to race with the kids there at All American Speedway Oct 11, 2014.
