Coca-Cola 600: Picks to win

2 Cars to watch out for in the Coca-Cola 600: Car 20 Matt Kenseth Home Depot Husky Toyota and Car 48 Jimmie Johnson Lowe’s Patriotic Chevrolet. Both need a win this year & were last years contenders for the championship which Johnson won. It should be easier for Jimmie Johnson as he is the Coors Light Pole Winner with a time of 27.705 & a speed of 194.911 mph.

There also could be some surprises this race: watch Car 10 Danica Patrick GoDaddy Chevrolet Qualified 4th place with a time of 27.931 & speed of 193.334 mph. She is coming off her best finish this year from Kansas & her best qualifying this season, it will be interesting to see her improvement. Other ones to watch would be the rookies: Kyle Larson Car 42 Target Chevrolet and Austin Dillon Car 3 Cheerios Chevrolet.

Car 41 Kurt Busch Haas Automation Made in America Chevrolet is the 9th driver to race both the Indianapolis 500 and the Coca-Cola 600 on the same day.

Kurt Busch is the latest to sign up for this most daring of double-duty, driving at Indy for Andretti Autosport. Green flag is at noon (ET) for open-wheel’s biggest race. Later Sunday afternoon he’ll jet down to Charlotte to jump into his No. 41 Haas Automation Made in America Chevrolet for the 6 p.m. (ET) start of NASCAR’s longest race.

The eight previous double-dips have been divided up by only three drivers – John Andretti (1994), Robby Gordon (1997, 2000, ’02, ’03, ’04) and Tony Stewart (’99 and ’01). Stewart has the best result – by far – in the books, having finished sixth at Indy and third at Charlotte in 2001, in the process becoming the only driver to complete all 1,100 miles between the two races.

Busch qualified 10th for the Indianapolis 500, but crashed in a Monday practice session and will be forced to a back-up car.

I wonder what the odds are Kurt winning both races? It would be cool to see.
